🌊 Flood Emergency — Buck Wild Rescue needs help right now Help Now →
Built one rescue at a time

The heart behind the work.

Buck Wild Rescue grew from one woman’s refusal to look away—and from a community that chose to stand beside her.

Meet Katie

She keeps showing up.

Katie is a single mom, the founder of Buck Wild Rescue, and the steady presence behind care that often continues 24 hours a day. Newborn wildlife may require feedings every few hours. Injured animals do not recognize weekends, holidays, or bedtime.

She has built an amazing rescue facility on a shoestring budget, stretching donated resources with creativity, hard work, and an unwavering focus on what the animals need.

Yet Katie does not claim the glory. She shares it with the volunteers, donors, veterinarians, neighbors, and supporters who make each rescue possible.

The culture she created

No spotlight. Just the next animal.

Buck Wild Rescue is not built around one personality. It is built around a shared promise: when wildlife needs help, the team will do everything possible to answer.

Resourceful by necessity

Every donated dollar must work hard. Enclosures, supplies, feeding systems, repairs, and daily operations are built and maintained with careful stewardship.

Powered by people who care

Volunteers make the rescue stronger, while one paid position provides continuity for the demanding daily care wildlife requires.

Wildlife first

The goal is never attention. It is rescue, rehabilitation, and the best possible outcome for every patient.

Credit shared freely

Katie’s leadership is visible in the way she gives others a place in the story and keeps the mission larger than herself.
